Duane Betts with Johnny Stachela at Radio-Active Records

Duane Betts’ special acoustic performance at Radioactive Records

Duane Betts’ special acoustic performance at Radioactive Records was marvelous. Following in his famous father, Dickie Betts’, (Allman Brothers) footsteps, Duane Betts does not disappoint and carries the southern rock torch. He performed four acoustic songs with his guitarist, Johnny Stachela, at Radioactive Records in Ft. Lauderdale on July 14th. He was promoting his debut solo album, Wild & Precious Life, as well as his solo nationwide tour. He showcased four songs from his new album which is Southern rock at its finest. “Saints to Sinners” is wonderfully crafted and a winner of a song. Crisp and freshly intricate guitar runs through the album and Duane’s vocals are Southern spot on. He played a new exquisite song called “Colors Fade” and stated, “It’s a favorite of mine.” “Stare At The Sun” features Derek Trucks on the album but, live at Radioactive, Johnny Stachela provided lovely acoustic guitar that blended beautifully with Duane’s guitar. It was a sheer delight to catch a bit of Duane’s magic at the super cool Radioactive’s new Ft Lauderdale location. What a treat, as is Duane’s new solo album.
