Fans of musicians who tickle the ivories and are masters of the keyboards will get three days of musical delights as the first ever “Keys On The Key” comes to beautiful Key Biscayne, FL. From Friday, April 1st through Sunday, April 3rd both the Key Biscayne Community Center and Key Biscayne Village Council Chamber will be turned into a musical marathon showcasing some of Miami-Dade County’s best homegrown talent. And admission is free. But that’s not all!

Piano and Keyboard players have the opportunity to be part of the performance. If you think you have what it takes, the Keys on the Key is accepting audition videos from now through Monday March 21st. Audition tapes must be 4 minutes in length, cannot be edited and must show your head hands and feet. Include full name, address, age, proof of Miami-Dade residency and the name of piece performed. All ages and musical styles considered. Send your video to: info@keypianofestival.org.

At Keys on the Key audiences will be able to move between the venues following mini concerts, sampling different styles of piano music (classical, pop, jazz, new age, and improv) performed by various piano virtuosi.

 

KEYS ON THE KEY

The weekend will take on a mini-festival format where space between venues will highlight spot performances as well as food offerings featuring Key Biscayne-based restaurants and businesses. All participating artists will be South Florida-based and will perform for no longer than 20 minutes at a time. Artists from Miami-Dade will be selected through a County-wide call.

Performance times are:
April 1st from 7:00PM to 9:00PM
April 2nd from 6:00PM to 8:00PM
April 3rd from 5:00PM to 7:00PM

Key Biscayne Community Center is located at 10 Village Green Way and the Village Council Chamber is located at 560 Crandon Boulevard on Key Biscayne.

With its founding, The Key Biscayne Piano Festival, and its newly incorporated 501(c)(3) organization, Stars, Friends, Arts, Inc., not only intends of bringing pianists of the highest caliber to indulge a passionate piano audience on the Key, but also to educate and engage young music admirers. Stars, Friends, Arts, Inc. and its Key Biscayne Piano Festival, as well as other programs, embodies a community-driven philosophy and creates concerts to reflect it. Music also has the capacity to produce a sense of community, uniting musicians, and audiences alike— forming bonds that might not exist otherwise.
