Wilco’s Sweet and Sour Spring 2025 tour arrived in on April 29th at the Fillmore Miami Beach, with
Waxahatchee, an alt-country and indie artist, opening the show. This tour coincides with the release of a four- CD box set commemorating the 20th anniversary of their groundbreaking Wilco album “A Ghost Is Born,” which was released on February 7th of this year.

Given the immense significance of this album in Wilco’s history, their setlist was heavily influenced by it. The opening number “Wishful Thinking” set the stage for an evening that only grew more vibrant as the band delved into their catalogue throughout the performance. Wilco is known for their unwavering dedication to their fans, who consistently fill seats on their tours. While the band acknowledged the popularity of songs like “Jesus, etc.,” “Impossible Germany,” and “Heavy Metal Drummer,” by playing them that night, they strove to keep things exciting for their dedicated fanbase by peppering their setlist with deep cuts from their extensive repertoire.

Although Wilco is renowned for playing long shows, their 24-song set at the Fillmore Miami Beach was still substantial given modern concert standards. Their top-notch musicianship and the band’s chemistry orchestrated by Jeff Tweedy was evident in tunes like “Via Chicago” and “Bird without a Tail / Base of My Skull.” Overall, it was a fun night that delivered exactly what fans came to expect when Wilco rolls into town.
